Eight Named to CNU Alumni Society Board

EIGHT NAMED TO CNU ALUMNI SOCIETY BOARD
(NEWPORT NEWS, VA) – Eight Christopher Newport University alumni have been appointed or elected to the board of directors of the CNU Alumni Society.


Those appointed to fulfill unexpired terms include:
• Michael Bland graduated in 1997 with a B.A. in fine arts/theatre and 2001 with a B.S. in computer science. Bland, an associate software engineer at Northrop Grumman Newport News, will serve a one-year term.

• Rebecca Duckwall graduated in 1996 with a B.S. in business administration. Duckwall, assistant director of admissions at CNU, will serve a two-year term.

• James M. Haggard C.P.A., graduated with a B.S. in business administration in 1977. Haggard, a senior partner with Goodman & Company, will serve a two-year term.

Elected for three-year terms were:
• James T. Dean graduated with a B.S. in business administration in 1990. Dean is the tourism and promotions manager at the Virginia Living Museum.

• April Hudson graduated with a B.A. in communication studies in 2000. She is a recruiting coordinator for Ferguson Enterprises.

• Catherine Johnson graduated with a B.S. in psychology in 1971. She also holds an M.S. in guidance and counseling from Hampton University and a J.D. from the Marshall Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary. She is in private practice as a lawyer and certified mediator.

• Jessica Ledbetter graduated with a B.S. in computer science in 2001. She is a web developer at Jefferson Lab.

• Mike Yazkowsky graduated with a B.S. in business administration in 1995. He is the development manager in the department of economic development for the City of Hampton.The CNU Alumni Society works to benefit the university through scholarships and community service. The organization has sponsored 21 fundraising, social and career events in the past year. The 30-member board meets quarterly.
