757-594-7331Christopher Newport University is pleased to announce that Jennifer Caylor of Montross, Virginia will be the first recipient of the Thomas N. Downing Scholarship. Tom Downing represented the Northern Neck of Virginia in the U.S. Congress for 18 years.
"Jennifer Caylor embodies the wonderful qualities of energy, excellence and leadership that were hallmarks of Tom Downing’s years of service to America" said CNU President Paul Trible.
Jennifer Caylor graduated this month from Washington & Lee High School with a GPA of 4.0 and plans to enter CNU in the fall to begin her pre-med studies. Jennifer is a member of the National Honor Society, All-Area band, All-District band and plays All-District volleyball and softball as well as high school basketball.
