Congressman Scott to Visit CNU
To Address Virginia Political Science Association

Congressman Bobby Scott will visit the Christopher Newport University campus to address the Virginia Political Science Association’s annual meeting on Saturday, November 8, 2003. His luncheon address will focus on the state of the federal budget and will take place at 1pm in the University’s Alumni Room located in the Student Center.

Congressman Scott is currently serving his sixth term as a member of Congress and is running unopposed for a seventh term. He serves on the House Budget Committee and the Judiciary Committee, where he is the lead Democrat on the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security. He grew up in Newport News and attended Harvard University and Boston College Law School before returning to Virginia to practice law. He was elected to the Virginia House in 1977 and the Virginia Senate in 1983.
