Lifehouse band to perform on campus
News Release - September 22, 2005 (NEWPORT NEWS, VA) — The alternative rock band Lifehouse comes to Christopher Newport University for an 8 p.m. concert on Oct. 15 in The Freeman Center on campus. The band, composed of three men who play drums, guitar and bass and sing in powerful harmony, had a multi-platinum record in 2000 aided by its single “Hanging by a Moment.” Its third album “Lifehouse” spawned its current top 10 hit "You and Me," which has been on Billboard's Top 40 list for 32 weeks. The band recently appeared on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Last Call with Carson Daly." Two of the three twenty-something band members say they are influenced by Dave Grohl of the current band Foo Fighters. Singer Jason Wade writes lyrics for the band that express his emotions, and has written more than 50 songs. In 2002, Lifehouse toured and played with The Rolling Stones in the United States, United Kingdom, Europe and Australia. Tickets for students are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Tickets for general public are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets are available starting Sept. 26 at the Freeman Center Box Office or online at http://studentlife.cnu.edu/. The event is being co-sponsored by the Campus Activities Board and the Office of Student Activities. For more information, contact Director of Student Activities Kim Roeder at 594-7490.
