Governor Mark R. Warner to Speak at Christopher Newport University

(NEWPORT NEWS, VA) — Virginia Gov. Mark R. Warner will speak at Christopher Newport University at 3 p.m. on Oct. 3 at the Concert Hall in the Ferguson Center for the Arts. The speech is free and open to the public.

Warner’s speech is part of the University’s 2005-2006 Leadership Speaker Series, which seeks to leverage the knowledge gained in the classroom by the real-world experiences of great leaders.

  • Joseph W. Luter III, chairman and CEO of Smithfield Foods, Inc., 7 p.m., Feb. 6
  • Douglas G. Duncan, president and CEO of FedEX Freight, Inc., 4 p.m., April 5, 2006

Truett Cathy, the founder and chairman of Chick-fil-A restaurants, opened the series on Sept. 20.
