CNU students, faculty meet with leadership scholars in Amsterdam

(NEWPORT NEWS, Va.) — Fourteen students and two professors from Christopher Newport University attended the International Leadership Association’s Annual Conference Nov. 2 – 5 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Each of the students is taking classes to fulfill the requirements of a leadership studies minor and was selected to receive scholarships to attend the conference based on academic performance, leadership service, and interest in studying leadership.

The students were accompanied by Dr. Bob Colvin and Dr. Anne Perkins, both Leadership Studies faculty.

For the second year in a row, CNU had the largest number of undergraduate students present at the ILA Conference. More than 400 scholars from around the globe met to present research and new ways to understand leadership.

Scholarship recipients include: Jennifer Aldridge, Ashley Bisutti, Matthew Creasy, Melissa J. Elliott, Nathan Fender, Amanda Hanson, Jessica Hinz, Tatem Inskeep, Jon D. Loftis, Walter Pierce, Todd Shockley, Ashleigh Stacy, Stephanie Wacek, and Timothy Wacek.
