Dr. Forbes’ donation provides a dollar-for-dollar match for other gifts over the next five years.

CNU's Ferguson Center for the ArtsCollege Planning & Management magazine named the Ferguson Center for the Arts the 2006 Grand Prize Winner in the 7th Annual Education Design Showcase. The Center also won three other major awards this year.

Team Supersnack walks on May 21A group of CNU alumni raised more than $20,000 for AIDS by organizing and performing in a charity event in New York City, as well as participating in the 2006 AIDS Walk, held May 21 in Central Park. Based on the amount of money raised, the CNU team, called Team Supersnack, is ranked second among "friends and family" teams and is in 23rd place overall out of 2,100 teams participating.

Commencement exercises were held on May 13 at POMOCO Stadium on the CNU campus.

Douglas DuncanDouglas Duncan, a 1972 graduate of Christopher Newport College, returned to his alma mater – now a growing university – as an Executive-in-Residence at the Joseph W. Luter, III School of Business and as a member of the University’s Board of Visitors.
The Hampton native advised and informed faculty, staff, students and the general public in a daylong visit on April 5, 2006.

CNU's Virginia Association of College and University Residence Hall 2006 delegation.CNU’s residential program won numerous awards at the annual Virginia Association of College and University Residence Hall conference in February at Radford University. CNU's resident assistants and residential leaders dominated the state in innovative social and educational programming.

RCC president Dr. Elizabeth Crowther and CNU president Paul Trible.CNU made Rappahannock Community College its first partner in a guaranteed-admission agreement on Feb. 13. A special feature of the agreement is CNU’s guarantee that 15 spots in its junior class will be reserved each year for RCC graduates who are members of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society for two-year colleges.
