CNU announces Stock Market winners
News Release - January 3, 2006 (NEWPORT NEWS, Va.) — Area high school students learned about the stock market through a 10-week simulation and were regional winners in the Christopher Newport University Center for Economic Educations’ fall 2005 Stock Market Game. Students are given $100,000 in virtual money to “invest” in the stocks of their choice. These CNU winners ranked the highest of 33 area teams. The top teams will now be ranked among all teams in the state of Virginia. The Stock Market Game is a registered trademark and the game is sponsored in the state by the Virginia Council on Economic Education. Here are the winners: First Place Second Place Third Place CNU’s Center for Economic Education aims to promote economic education to K-12 area students, in order to help them better understand the economy and economic principles.
