CNU's new sport club to compete at professional arena

(NEWPORT NEWS, Va.) — Christopher Newport University’s new Ice Hockey Club will compete for the first time in a professional arena on Feb. 4 at the Norfolk Scope, home to the Norfolk Admirals professional hockey team.

CNU’s game against the College of William and Mary begins at 3:30 p.m. and will be followed at 7 p.m. by an Admirals game. Tickets are $13 for both games and are available by sending an e-mail to hockey@cnu.edu.

Proceeds from the tickets will be used to help support the Ice Hockey Club, which is a club sport composed of 20 CNU student-athletes.

The team is a member of the Blue Ridge Hockey Conference and plays other university teams such as Old Dominion, Virginia Commonwealth, University of Richmond, Radford and Clemson.
