(NEWPORT NEWS, Va.) — Dr. Victor Davis Hanson, noted historian and journalist, will lecture and sign copies of his newest book, “A War Like No Other: How the Athenians and Spartans Fought the Peloponnesian War,” at 3 p.m. on April 7 at Christopher Newport University's Ferguson Center for the Arts, in the Music and Theatre Hall.

The lecture, “War in a Classical Context,” is free and open to the public. Copies of his book will be available for purchase in the Music and Theatre Lobby after the program.

Hanson is a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University, a columnist for Tribune Media Services and National Review Online, and the author or editor of 16 books primarily on military history.

Hanson came to national prominence after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks because of his frank and insightful views on the nature of military conflict, past and present. He has recently returned from Iraq and has published several columns on the current conflict. More information is available at www.victorhanson.com.
