CNU to participate in national teach-in on war on terror

(NEWPORT NEWS, Va.) — Christopher Newport University will show a streaming video of a day-long national teach-in on legal, ethical and military implications of the war on terror.

The event, “Guantanamo: How Should We Respond?” broadcast from Seton Hall Law School, will be aired 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Oct. 5, in Room 230 of the David Student Union at CNU. The event is open to CNU students, faculty and staff.

CNU will join more than 200 schools in 44 states participating in this simulcast event. Led by journalists, attorneys for detainees, physicians and theologians, the broadcast program will explore the lessons learned from Guantanamo, the military detention camp in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

CNU students will participate in discussions and selected readings from the play "Guantanamo: Honor Bound to Defend Freedom."
