CNU announces Stock Market Game winners

(NEWPORT NEWS, Va.) — Area high school students learned about the stock market through a 10-week simulation and were regional winners in the Christopher Newport University Center for Economic Education's fall 2006 Stock Market Game.

Students are given $100,000 in virtual money to “invest” in the stocks of their choice. These CNU winners ranked the highest of 43 area teams. The top teams will now be ranked among all teams in the state of Virginia. The Stock Market Game is a registered trademark and the game is sponsored in the state by the Virginia Council on Economic Education.

Lafayette High School with an ending portfolio of $133,919.09

CNU’s Center for Economic Education aims to promote education to K-12 area students, in order to help the better understanding of the economy and economic principles.
