(NEWPORT NEWS, Va.) — Seven Christopher Newport University vocal soloists won top honors at the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) state vocal competition. The competition, hosted this year by CNU from March 2-3, featured hundreds of students from all Virginia colleges and universities.
CNU produced two state champions, two 2nd places, and three honorable mentions in eight categories. The winners are:

Professor Christopher Mooney served as the CNU liaison to NATS and was responsible for coaching many of the students along with Dr. Rachel Holland, Director of Vocal Studies for CNU.
