CNU’s Ice Hockey Team off to a good start
News Release -October 09, 2007
The Captains defeated the Salisbury University Gulls twice last week, an all-time record of four wins and no losses against them. They won 7-5 at their home rink, the Hampton Roads Iceplex on Sept. 22 and won again 10-3 on Sept. 28 at Salisbury. The Captains continued to impress the campus and hockey community by defeating last season's sixth place team in the American Collegiate Hockey Association's South division, the Loyola College Greyhounds. After being down by five goals in the first period, the team came together and was able to take the lead towards the end of the second period. The final score was 11-9 in the Captains' favor. The team will take on the North Carolina State University Wolfpack this Friday, Oct. 12. The game will be held at the Captains' home rink, the Hampton Roads Iceplex at 11:00 p.m. The cost will be $1 per person.
