CNU Professor’s Case Wins Second Place in National Competition

(NEWPORT NEWS, Va.) - Dr. Lisa Spiller, Professor of Marketing at the Joseph W. Luter, III, School of Business at Christopher Newport University, working in conjunction with Coldwell Banker Professional Realtors (CBPRO), has received a 2nd place award in a national competition. Dr. Spiller helped develop a case that focused on CBPRO marketing strategies. The Direct Marketing Educator’s Foundation Case Writer’s Workshop presented the 2nd place award to the Coldwell Banker case at the 19th annual awards and educator’s conference in Chicago. The competition is co-sponsored by the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation and the Chicago Association of Direct Marketing. Dr. Spiller worked with Mr. Mark Sarrett, General Manager of CBPRO, and Dr. Carol Scovotti of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, a research colleague to develop the case. The Coldwell Banker case will be used for business and marketing case studies in college classrooms around the country.
