This CNU student team will compete against the three other District winners in the nation; Harvard University, Northwestern University and SUNY Geneseo in the national competition, which will be held on November 26 at the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governor’s in Washington, D.C.
The College Fed Challenge is sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, and is an academic competition designed to encourage better understanding of the nation’s central bank, the forces influencing economic conditions in the United States and abroad, and the ways the economy affects individuals’ lives. Participating student teams gave 20-minute presentations on monetary policy, followed by ten minutes of questions and answers. The final four teams underwent a further round of competition involving intense, on-the-spot questioning about a hypothetical economic event posed by the judges. They were judged on content, teamwork, responses to questions, presentation and style.
