CNU's Ice Hockey Team Ranked #6 in South
News Release - November 20, 2007 Media Contact:
This is the first season that the Captains have been ranked in the top ten. With a record of ten wins and only one loss, the young team seems to be showing a lot of potential. A couple of months ago many teams in the ACHA had no idea what CNU stood for or where it is located, but with continued success the word is getting around. This is the best start the Captains have ever had in a season, as well as the most wins. One of the Captains’ biggest accomplishments so far this season was defeating the team ranked fourth place in the ACHA South Division, the University of Richmond Spiders, 5-3 last Saturday evening. This win should help the Captains move up in ranking in the South Region. The next home game for the Captains will be Friday, November 30 against the Lynchburg College Hornets at 11:00 p.m. On Saturday, December 1, the Captains will play again at home against the Virginia Military Institute Keydets at 11:00 p.m. The games will be held at the Captains' home rink, the Hampton Roads Iceplex. The cost will be $1 per person. Answers to questions regarding the ice hockey team may be found on its website, www.cnuhockey.com or directed to their P.R. Director Jenni MacGregor at jenni.macgregor.04@cnu.edu.
