Former Leader in the U.S. National Security Council Giving Lecture at CNU

Dr. Caravelli is a leading expert on a range of national security issues, including terrorism and nuclear nonproliferation. He began his governmental career in 1982, joining the Central Intelligence Agency where he served until 1996 in a variety of managerial, analytic and staff positions. Dr. Caravelli in 1996 joined the White House National Security Council Staff as Director for Nonproliferation with responsibility for the formulation of the US Government’s nonproliferation policy to Russia and the Middle East. In 2000 he became Deputy Assistant Secretary and Director at the Department of Energy’s international nuclear and radiological security programs. Since leaving government service in 2005, Dr. Caravelli has served as a visiting professor at the UK Defence Academy and is on the advisory board of Oxford University’s Program on Intelligence and Terrorism. He has been a featured commentator on security issues for CNN and the BBC. This lecture is free and open to the public.
