CNU and NASA Invite Hampton Roads to EarthFest 2008

Earthfest(NEWPORT NEWS, Va.) - What’s your "carbon footprint?"

 
Find out at EarthFest, a daylong community celebration designed to address the challenges facing our home planet and what we can all do to preserve and protect it.

 
The Christopher Newport University (CNU) Institute for Science Education and NASA Langley Research Center will host the free, indoor-outdoor event Saturday, April 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., rain or shine, at the Ferguson Center for the Performing Arts in Newport News.
 

EarthFest will include a talk by an astronaut-scientist, children’s and educational activities, hourly presentations by scientists, art displays, music, food, information about the Earth science work of CNU and NASA, “Ask a Scientist’ panels, and exhibits from community groups that feature Earth-friendly information.

 
Visitors will learn about water and energy conservation, green technology, taking steps to protect the environment, thinking and going "green," and how to make choices to bring about a more sustainable world.
