(NEWPORT NEWS, Va.) - The following area high schools were winners in the Christopher Newport University Center for Economic Education’s Spring 2008 Stock Market Game (SMG):

1st place

The SMG is a 10-week Stock Market simulation. Students are given $100,000 in virtual money and “invest” in the stocks of their choice. The above CNU area winners ranked the highest of 112 area teams. The game is sponsored by the CNU Center for Economic Education. The top teams will now be ranked among all teams in the state of Virginia. The SMG is a registered trademark and the game is sponsored in the state by the Virginia Council on Economic Education.
