CNU's Center for Economic Education Awarded Grant from National Council on Economic Education

(Newport News) - The Christopher Newport University Center for Economic Education has been awarded a grant from the National Council on Economic Education as part of the Cooperative Education Exchange Program (CEEP). The CEEP is funded by the United States Department of Education and carried out in coordination with the United States Department of State.

Grant monies and complimentary curriculum will be used to sponsor a workshop for area elementary teachers in grades 3-5. This program is taking place during International Education Week 2008, a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of State. Twenty-six teachers have already signed up for this workshop to be held at CNU on November 17, 2008 and there is currently a waiting list.
