(NEWPORT NEWS, VA) – Omicron Delta Kappa, The National Collegiate Leadership Honor Society announced today that Joanna Andrusko and Brookelynn Constant from the OΔK® circle at Christopher Newport University have been selected to participate in the annual Campus Leaders Today, Community Leaders Tomorrow™ program, June 16-19, 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona.

The program brings together 40 bright college leaders and is designed to prepare them for service as board members for nonprofit organizations. The program will provide an opportunity for selected OΔK® members to learn about board responsibilities, how to match their interests with board service, and how nonprofits contribute to healthy societies. Those attending will also be provided an opportunity to visit nonprofit organizations for a “behind-the-scenes” look at operations and to meet with board members. This is a unique opportunity to learn, experience, and prepare for a lifetime of leadership in the nonprofit sector.

OΔK® was founded December 3, 1914 at Washington and Lee University, Lexington Virginia, by 15 student and faculty leaders. Omicron Delta Kappa was the first college honor society of a national scope to give recognition for meritorious leadership and service in extracurricular activities. The society is now present on the campuses of over 300 colleges around the country. The Omicron Delta Kappa Society recognizes and encourages superior scholarship, leadership and exemplary character.
