CNU's Student Athlete Advisory Committee Raises $500 to Benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula

(NEWPORT NEWS, VA) – Christopher Newport University recently took part in the “Pennies for a Purpose” campaign along with all other schools in the USA South Athletic Conference. The initiative, an effort to collect loose change to help worthy organizations, took place from March 1st through April 10th. Each institution selected its own charitable cause to help.

The President of CNU’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee, Erin Wojtkun, is also President of the USA South’s SAAC. Wojtkun and Carolyn Hunter, Christopher Newport’s Senior Woman Administrator, presented a $500 check to Steve Kast, Chief Executive Officer of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula.

Overall, the USA South institutions collected over $4300 in the second annual event, bringing the two-year total to over seven thousand dollars.
