(NEWPORT NEWS, VA) - Christopher Newport University's Department of History and the National Genocide Education Project will present a lecture examining Nazi medical practices and experiments on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. The lecture will take place in McMurran Hall, Room 102. The distinguished lecturer will be Theodore R. Reiff, M.D., CNU Scholar in Residence, Department of History.
Dr. Reiff founded the National Genocide Education Project, which is now collaborating with the CNU Genocide Studies Endowment. The lecture is free and open to the public. No reservation is required.
Dr. Reiff has practiced medicine for many years and has served in faculty roles at a number of medical schools including Johns Hopkins University, Eastern Virginia Medical School, the University of North Dakota and the University of Nebraska. He has devoted years to the study of war crimes committed by Nazi physicians.
